Professional Development
As of 2002 Markus Bärtschi worked as a notary in the office of Alfred Flückiger at Belpstrasse 9 in Muri. In 2005 he became a partner at Flückiger & Bärtschi, which moved its offices to Thunstrasse 68 in 2006. Since the beginning of 2015 the notary office has been operating under the name recht@muri.

Markus Bärtschi serves mainly families who have been clients of our notary office since its foundation in the 1930’s. He provides all notarial services from land registry and inheritance to commercial registry issues, in particular for private persons and companies in the surrounding area.

Prior to joining the law firm and notary office recht@muri Nando Stauffer von May was a self-employed notary. Since 2008 he has also been working as an attorney with gbf attorneys-at-law, Zurich, where he is a partner. Nando Stauffer von May has worked for business law firms in Bern and in Berlin, for the Civil and Criminal Court Signau-Trachselwald (today Regional Court Emmental-Oberaargau) and for the Land Registry of the district of Bern-Laupen (today Regional Land Registry Bern-Mittelland).


Expertise
Nando Stauffer von May’s practice is focused up corporate and trade law, debt enforcement, transport law, insurance and insurance supervision law, inheritance and real estate law. He advises Swiss and foreign companies as well as private persons.
As a notary public of the Canton of Bern he authenticates Bernese real estate deeds, marriage and inheritance contracts and inventories as well as deeds for the Commerical Registries in the German and French part of Switzerland.
As an attorney-of-law Nando Stauffer von May mainly represents insurance and reinsurance companies as well as transportation companies before Swiss Civil Courts as well as before international arbitration courts. He also represents clients as a defense attorney in administrative and criminal cases.

Prior to her post graduate study (LL.M) and her admission as a notary, Annik Bärtschi worked as a tax consultant in a major consulting firm. Between 2006 and 2012 she worked for the Tax Appeals Committee of the Canton for Bern, and between 2012 and 2014 for the Administrative Court of the Canton of Bern.


Expertise
Annik Bärtschi advises private persons on all tax matters and deals with their tax declarations. During her work for the Tax Appeals Committee of the Canton for Bern she gained experience in the field of direct taxes, inheritance and donation taxes, taxes on transaction of immovable property, back-taxes and penalty charges as well as the valuation of real estate. As a notary public she offers all notarial services from land registry and inheritance to commercial registry issues.

Professional Development
After her studies in Geneva, Helsinki and Bern, Andrea von May worked as a science assistant at the University of Lucerne. She also worked for the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic with the United Nations, for the Swiss Refugee Council, for The Federal Office of Culture, division law of cultural assets, as well as for the Swiss Embassy in Ecuador. In the Canton of Berne, Andrea von May worked for the Regional Court Berner Jura Seeland and for the Land Registry of the district of Seftigen-Belp (today Regional Land Registry Bern-Mittelland). Prior to joining recht@muri Andrea von May was the manager of the Foundation Education (A Swiss Foundation supporting Human Advancement in Latin America) and between 2009 and 2013 director/editor-in-chief of the Association for Environmental Law in Zurich. Today she is regional director of WWF Bern.

Andrea von von May’s practice focuses on environmental law, planning law and the law concerning foreign nationals. Furthermore, she supports her clients and the recht@muri-Team as an interpreter.
